Homework and Readers
We will be sending home some nursery rhymes for your child to learn. If your child brings a book bag into school they will be able to take a book home from our shared reading area and these books can be changed every day. We do ask that you borrow just one book at a time so that there are enough books for everyone. We look forward to finding out which books your children have enjoyed reading with you.

Homework and Readers
Once the children are settled in the Foundation Stage and we begin formal lessons (after the baseline assessments), children will be sent home with a letter formation activity to practise the sound they have learnt during the day in their Read Write Inc lesson. We will also be sending home a reading book if your child brings a book bag into school on a Monday. Please share the book with your child and record this in their reading challenge. The children will get a sticker for every 5 reads and will get a badge for completing the whole challenge.
PE
The children take part in lots of physical activities in our outside area, which children have access to for most of the day. We begin more formal PE lessons in the Spring term and will send a letter nearer the time to inform you of what your child will need.
If you would like to change any of your data or consents at any time, please contact the school office.

Reading at Home
Our school policy regarding reading practice is to read at home 5 times each week. Children should bring their book bags ONLY ON A FRIDAY so that reading challenges can be checked and books can be changed.
We continue with the school reading challenge if the children read regularly at home they will move up through the levels earning themselves badges. (Children love to collect the badges and display them on their reading bag).
If your child reads 5 times in one week their name will become remarkable readers and their name will go into a draw with a chance to win a book.
We will also at times send home letter/word cards for the children to practise.
PE
Year 1 pupils will start PE in September. They will need their PE kits bringing in every Monday and will take them home on a Friday to be washed. Please remember to include plasters if your child wears stud earrings and to label all of their kit with their name.
If you would like to change any of your data or consents at any time, please contact the school office.
